Void

Void explores the tension between the presence of matter and the absence that inhabits it. The sculpture rises from a circular base holding a metal cylinder slit lengthwise, its irregular edges eroded by fire revealing the interior. Through this deep central breach, subtle spikes cross the space from side to side like stitches or heartbeats suspended in the air. It is a work in which metal becomes a receptacle for air and for introspection, turning emptiness into a tangible form of lyrical density.
