José Claudio Ruiz

He was born in Tres Arroyos (Buenos Aires) in 1967. He moved very young to Rosario (Santa Fe), where he studied art at the Escuela Provincial de Artes Visuales No. 3031 “Gral. Manuel Belgrano”, graduating as a Teacher of Visual Arts and as a Professor of Visual Arts. At the Faculty of Fine Arts of the National University of Rosario he obtained his postgraduate diploma in Fine Arts and his degree in Fine Arts. Since 1985 he has taken part in solo and group exhibitions, in official and private salons, receiving numerous distinctions. His works form part of important private and public collections in Argentina and abroad.

Since 1990 he has worked as a teacher in the field of art. He was twice elected Head of the Practical Training Department at the Escuela Provincial de Artes Visuales, where he served as Registrar in 2009 and held the post of Director from 2010 until his retirement in 2023. He has taken part in many artistic activities and created five exhibition spaces devoted to the promotion of art from Rosario. In 2000 he founded Proart, a virtual gallery with works by more than 25 distinguished artists from Rosario. His works can be seen on more than 70 art websites around the world.
