X-pansion

X-pansion subverts the heaviness of industrial matter to turn it into the vehicle of an inescapable vital impulse. From a firm base and an iron column of strong tectonic presence, the sculpture rises to culminate in a bold spiral structure. The concentric rings and the subtle metal meshes that connect them evoke the unfolding of an expanding heartbeat. Every open circle and every weld acts as a force pushing outward. A monument to opening and to growth: the precise instant in which what has been contained breaks its own limits in order to breathe, widen and occupy the immensity of space.
