Zipper explores the anatomy of matter and industrial assembly with a powerful expressive charge. The sculpture rises vertically from a sober base, structuring a central axis that opens at its midsection like the mechanical fastening that gives the piece its name, exposing the spherical core. The metal ribs framing the opening and the rusted surfaces give the work a visceral character, in which the rigidity of steel engages with the fragility of the organic. It is a piece that fuses the precision of iron construction with a deep reflection on structure, scar and the interior of matter.
