In Conflict

A vertical metal cylinder pushes up from the ground and flares open at the top, as though giving way to outside pressure. Two diverging flaps grip and hold a spherical core bristling with spikes. The work gives body to the tension and the struggle of opposites, where the rigidity of the industrial tube collides with the dynamic opening of the upper planes. It is a plastic metaphor for confrontation and unstable balance, a latent contest between the force of containment and the urge towards release.
