Palindrome Device

In this display case conceived in collaboration between Sergio Superti and Claudio Ruiz, sculpture is hybridised with playful mechanism and with literature to create an object of direct interaction. The piece consists of a solid structure with the look of an austere, rigorous box, fitted with side knobs that invite the viewer to set in motion a roll or band of paper inside it. Through a subtle slot at the front, the device reveals symmetrical, reversible phrases — palindromes written by both authors — that emerge and travel before the public's eyes. It is a work in which industrial rigour allies itself with the sharpness of verbal wit, turning the viewer into a dynamic participant who activates time, reading and the play of symmetry.
