Chronicle of Gears

Fine timbers, deeply worn by the relentless passing of the years, are assembled with pulleys, chains and metal gears to evoke an ancestral machinery. The sculpture works as a visual chronicle of human effort, of mechanical labour and of everyday wear. In salvaging these rusted industrial elements, the work transfigures them into poetic vestiges of a technological archaeology as endearing as it is melancholy.
