Lightness

Reinaudo and Ruiz push at the limits of matter in this joint work, through a subtle collision between the graphic arts and sculpture in sheet metal. Conceived to live on the wall, the work gives material form to the poetic instant in which the ephemeral leaves its indelible trace: a delicate metal feather seems to project or unfold its own essence onto the plane of the paper through the woodcut. The rigorous textures of the forged sheet contrast with, and at the same time merge into, the fragility of the print, generating a play of shadow and volume that goes beyond the two-dimensional plane. It is a piece in which the weight of iron becomes weightless, capturing suspended flight and the memory of the mark in a delicate poetic balance.
