Imprint

In Imprint, Reinaudo and Ruiz fuse the worlds of sculpture and printmaking by integrating an etching press with the print taken directly onto the metal. The work captures the very instant of graphic creation: a flexible sheet running between the steel rollers, revealing the successive prints emerging from the matrix. It is a self-referential, conceptual piece in which the workshop machinery ceases to be an invisible tool and becomes the sculptural protagonist, immortalising the physical process of the mark, the pressure and the transfer of ink onto matter.
